One of our favorite things is students over 60 who finally decide to learn English — and succeed at it.

Why do older adults decide to learn?

Travel abroad, grandchildren growing up overseas, wanting to understand movies and shows without subtitles, and a feeling of "I always wanted to and never got around to it."

Does an older brain learn differently?

Yes, but not necessarily worse. Adults learn more slowly than children, but with greater consistency. They have clear motivation, patience, and strong analytical ability — which offsets the flexibility that declines with age.

The right approach

A personal pace, no pressure, realistic goals, and conversation and communication over grammar and exams. It works.
