How to Choose an English School: 6 Questions You Must Ask

1. What's the teachers' training?

Are the teachers certified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL/CELTA)? Are they native speakers? How many years of teaching experience do they have?

2. How many students per class?

More than 12 students per class means less individual attention. Ask about the average class size.

3. What's the teaching method?

Is there a structured curriculum? How is progress tracked? Is there homework?

4. Is a trial lesson available?

Any serious school will agree to a trial lesson. If not, that's a red flag.

5. What do other parents say?

Ask for recommendations, check Google reviews, and talk to parents whose children have studied there for a year already.

6. Is the content age-appropriate?

A 7-year-old and a 20-year-old don't learn the same way. Make sure there's a program specific to your child's age and level.
